More than 250 people enjoyed the state-of-the-art facilities at the Carlson School of Management during the 27th Annual HR Tomorrow conference in April 2006. Chief Learning Officer Kevin Wilde describes how a variety of high impact systems and tools were used by General Mills to go beyond the traditional organizational structure and leverage the talents and passions of their employees.

During a break, Tom Hall, Vice President of Human Resources for Seagate Technology, left, discussed the implications of Professor Mario Bognanno's research on some of the challenges facing his organization. Both Hall and Bognanno were conference presenters. Nancy Weidenfeller, a Principal Consultant with MDA Leadership Consulting, shared her blueprint for large-scale change and strategic alignment; her strategy utilizes a six-phase approach for helping leaders implement change initiatives that produce desired results for their organizations.

Current HRIR students Jessica Wrobel, Alex Pullen, Abbey Peterson, and Ellen Kleiner stopped to pose for a photo during a conference break. More than 70 HRIR students attended the conference at a discounted rate, thanks to the generosity of our corporate sponsors. Three current MA-HRIR students, Pallavi Belapurkar, Melis Candir, and Erica Waldera, paused for a moment between conference sessions.

Ato Taylor, center, was awarded the 2nd Annual HR Tomorrow Fellowship, thanks to the generosity of our corporate sponsors. Ato will join the MA-HRIR program in Fall 2006; here he visits with IRC Alumni Association Board members Susan Allen and Steve Cominetti. Long-time IRC Professor Mario Bognanno shared the results of a study he co-authored on the influence of wages and industrial relations environments on the production location decisions of U.S. multinational firms.
